Given the particular type of Dark you seem to like in your fantasy I am curious if you have read any of the Black Jewels series by Anne Bishop? If not I can't say I recommend them per se (I mostly have an official policy of not recommending these no matter how much I like them because the list of necessary content-warnings is too long to all fit in my head simultaneously) but if you've heard of them and were thinking of giving them a try already maybe consider this 0.1 of a recommendation and don't say I didn't warn you.

I read them but unfortunately bounced off due to their incredible stupidity.
