I recently discovered a kind of similar trick, which is to do an internal David Attenborough narration. Especially when social interactions go poorly: "The younger male backs down, defeated. He will have to try again another day..."
Or if I'm being an idiot about basic needs: "He is badly in need of rest, but the instinct to read webcomics is a powerful one. He may not stop until complete exhaustion sets in."
Absolutely lovely. This also has the benefit of like, you know the tumblr girlies aren't doing it *for you*. Like, this isn't your mom or your friends acting out of concern for you. The love of tumblr girlies is entirely selfish and that's excellent.
I really like this concept, but I think one important point that should be mentioned is that the Draco Malfoy/Kylo Ren/Whoever apologists don't genuinely mean that all that blood supremacist shit Draco said was okay for him to say, or that all those murders that happened were cool, they are saying that the character didn't know any better and have the potential to grow to be better people and be *redeemed*. if you have hurt people, do not ignore that because you aren't as bad as Darth Vader, try to become the better person that your "fans" know you can be.
> what Ozy feels makes so much sense from their perspective, and what [redacted] feels also makes so much sense from their perspective… TALK TO EACH OTHER
when the imaginary people in your head constructed to give you unconditional love still acknowledge that other peoples feeling make sense from their perspective, it is probably because their feelings do make sense from their perspective, even if it is caused by a misunderstanding, I think it can be important to really think about that, and maybe even take that advice and try talking to them, not to explain to them why they shouldn't feel that emotion, or otherwise devalue their perspective, but to acknowledge their feelings and the role you may have had in creating those feelings so that you can both move on and so that you can try not to make the same mistakes/miscommunications in the future.
I love this.

Just... One... More... Turn....
::five hours later::
Where did the time go?
I don't suppose this is the place to say that I've been reading your work for years, and I think you're absolutely awesome? Because it's true.
You absolutely do have fans! I'm one of them!

This is like
The best idea
maybe?
I think I've tried things *like* this, but not as straightforwardly self-compassionate.
Thank you :3
