I think I know which steamship you're talking about, but I don't want to spoil the commenters. If I'm right, I second Ozy's prediction. Any properly delivered speech about that steamship will flood the venue with salt water.
That was my first Secular Solstice. Thank you for making it so special! I cried around a dozen times, and two of of those instances were about steam engines. It was very moving to be able to sing about things I actually believe.
Ah, I wish I could be there for this! Maybe one day, my work/geography situation will allow. Instead I will be at the NYC solstice event next weekend (I think I remember the essay about the steamship and hope I might hear it again).
One Piece fans: 'Cry about a ship? Been there, done that'
"The mark of a civilized man is the capacity to look at a Very Good Ship and weep." --Bertrand Russell, probably

It's completely out of my time zone - any chance I could watch it recorded? I would love to partake, but getting up at 4 a.m. is a little much :D
We're planning to have a recording available on YouTube.
Awesome! I'd love that!

About how many people do you expect to come?
We expect 400-500 people, plus livestream watchers.
