Dermatillomania, not trichotillomania. Trichotillomania is when you pluck out your hairs. (I used to tweeze my facial hair, much to my parents' dismay, because I couldn't stand the rough feel of the stubble that would grow in after shaving. These days, I have a beard instead.)
Menno is writing marketing copy for his coaching business, making the entirely true statements that:
- high load weight training is effective in building muscle in women
- the lower T levels don't make that not true
- hormone differences change somewhat what is optimal
- if you pay him money, you're likely to get strong and look good by the physique athlete standards
He is not saying that women can reach the same levels of strength or mass as men can. He is not saying that because he trains elite women and sees what they can do, which is impressive and excellent but not remotely competitive with men. Note what you read as "women get as strong as men" was actually "women gain the same relative strength as men" i.e. go from 40 to 100 on a lift where men go from 100 to 250 (numbers made up.)
I clicked the link and it's just a pile of potatoes. Seems like the sort of thing I would eat...honestly, this idea that all meals must be entertaining and high-variety is one of the reasons we're fat.
By the way, potatoes are very close to nutritionally complete. You can live on an all-potato diet (eat the skin too) for a long, long time before it causes any problems.
Are you going to be highlighting more gems from the Subnormality archives? Winston Rowntree definitely could use the additional exposure, and there are some absolute gems in there if you have the time to invest.
It seems obvious to me that an uplifted dog is not the same as a normal dog and should automatically have a rational soul. This would presumably apply even if the actual act of uplifting the dog is a sin.

You are badly misinterpreting Menno.

Jonathan Haidt has an entire Substack arguing for the social media causes misery hypothesis https://jonathanhaidt.substack.com/ and I have an article arguing for it as well https://benthams.substack.com/p/ritchie-is-wrong-about-social-media
What's wrong with boiled potatoes for lunch?

I'm extremely disappointed by the lack of Mycenaean puns in the Myconids link.
